Morphology and Cultivation Features
Durban Poison® has exceptional vigor and resilience. In the early stages of growth, the plant's foliage looks quite broad, reminiscent of an indica, but during flowering the strain reveals its true sativa potential: long, heavy inflorescences with a high ratio of calyxes to leaves are formed. The cones are unusually dense and resinous for a sativa.
The plant is characterized by active growth and forms numerous strong lateral branches. When grown indoors, the bush can increase in size by 2–3 times during flowering, so it is recommended to control its height (Topping, LST, SCROG methods) or reduce the vegetation period to 3–4 weeks. In the open air, Durban Poison® can turn into real giant trees up to 3–4 meters high, perfectly withstanding wind and rain.
Aromatic Profile and Effect
The variety has a unique and piquant aromatic bouquet. Thanks to the high concentration of Beta-Myrcene (48.0%) and Pinene (over 42%), the taste combines spicy and refreshing coniferous-citrus notes with pronounced nuances of anise, licorice and cloves.
Durban Poison® is known for its vibrant sativa effect. It provides a powerful boost of energy, alertness and creativity, helping to maintain productivity throughout the day. The effect improves mood and promotes pleasant communication without causing anxiety or paranoia.
